But I liked the characters, and though a bit predictable, I also enjoyed the story. This is more like a 3.5, but the errors!! There were as many as 5 glaring errors per page. I didn't research it, but I can't believe this author paid an editor, if he did he should get his money back. The only way I could read it was to edit it as I went. I didn't start until about chapter 3, at which point I was ready to toss it.Normally I take 1/2 a star for a cliffhanger like this story presents, I hate when the story abruptly ends. Cliffhangers can be managed more humanely, with a strong suggestion the story isn't over. This...leading the main protagonist into the jaws of a serial killer and POOF the book is over. Inexcusable. Of course the author wants us to buy the next book, but it backfired for me. I am not interested in reading anything further from this author.

Great mystery thriller! I couldn't put it down. Loved the characters and there were a lot of surprises in the story. Will definitely read more from this author.
A serial killer is on the loose and retired detective Jenny Pickett is forced to spring into action to hunt the killer. She soon finds herself in many precarious situations as she becomes the hunted. Great story full of twists and turns.
The characters are engaging and the it is a good murder mystery, but I am tired of the cliffhanger endings which require you to read the next book in the series. I'm done.
I must admit I couldn't finish this book. It seemed like a high school level with the author trying to use every buzz word or cliche he had ever heard. At the same time the graphic violence was sickening.
I love stories where an ex-detective comes back to solve a mystery because it's important personally or because there's no choice. Such stories tend to have more passionate characters and more surprises. Murder in Miami is one of such stories, with Jenny coming back to Miami to solve a case. Great read!

Jenny Pickett leaves Forest Pines and return to Miami to help the FB find a serial killer. But now, involved, is she the bait? The killings continue unabated after her return. Can Jenny find and survive a culprit hiding in dilapidated Fort Lauderdale?
A good read. Characters interesting & well described. BUT I truly HATE that the author does not complete the story at the end of each book. He "ends" the books leaving the reader in suspense like a soap opera. It feels like a cheap ploy to get readers to purchase the next book & I resent that. If he had completed or drawn each book to a satisfying end, I would have, probably, looked for more of his works. As it is, I may not read any more of this author's books.
